Return of the Repair Cafe

We are pleased to announce the return of New Hope’s Repair Café for service users as part of our new Cultivate service. The re-launched workshops will build on the success of our previous sessions and will offers structured sessions alongside opportunities for service users to bring things that need fixing.

We are hoping that it will encourage a culture of repair and renewal which as well as offering the learning and sharing of practical skills underlines the empowering message that renewal is ever possible in a society that is all to quick to discard things and sadly people as well.

Participants will:

  • Learn about electrics, plumbing and bricklaying

  • Have a possible opportunity to become a PAT tester

  • Learn or share a range of repair skills so they don’t have to keep throwing things away!

  • Meet like-minded people in a safe, comfortable place

  • Bring something along that needs fixing and we’ll learn to fix it together (electrical and non-electrical).
