Project Home

Project Home was launched in 2020 as we sought to raise money to provide people, who had recently been street homeless, with deposits to access the private rental sector, basic furniture, and household items.

Each month, we help approximately three - five people move from our Emergency Accommodation into the private rented sector or social housing. Sadly, however, these type of accommodations are not furnished. In fact, there are often no carpets! People often find out at very short notice that they are moving into their new home and they have nothing - no bed, microwave, kettle, chairs. Nothing.

This is where Project Home comes in. We want to be able to provide people with the basics so that moving into their new home is a positive experience not another trauma.

Stanley became homeless following a relationship breakdown and slept in a tent for a while as well as sofa-surfing and trying to hold down his job at the same time. Thankfully, we were able to use some of the Project Home funds to fund a deposit for him and he is now living in a small flat.

Donations towards Project Home are restricted for items needed by service users.

In addition to their good spirits, professional ethics and caring attitde, New Hope helped us relocate to a more comfortable home and amazed us further by providing the household essentials such as bed, chairs, cooker, fridge and other items we needed. Words are not enough for us to appreciate them for the kind gesture.
