Watford’s Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP)

New Hope is operating the SWEP emergency accommodation provision on behalf of Watford Borough Council this winter (2021/2022). SWEP will be activated when the Met Office forecasts zero degrees Celsius, or below, for one night. Local conditions such as wind chill, rain and snow will also be considered.

Referrals can be done via the following (a referral form will need to be completed):

  • Through New Hope’s Outreach Plus service

  • Through New Hope’s The Haven at 4 Whippendell Road, Watford Herts WD18 7LU (open Monday – Friday from 8:30am-3:45pm)
