Watford’s Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP)

If, and when, the temperature does fall below 0°C, then SWEP will be specifically called, and additional beds will be made available, if necessary. SWEP is activated when there is severe weather and is designed to prevent deaths or serious illness on the streets during periods of particularly difficult conditions.

Referrals for emergency accommodation can be done via the following (a referral form will need to be completed):

• Through New Hope’s Outreach Plus service

• Through New Hope’s The Haven at 4 Whippendell Road, Watford Herts WD18 7LU (open Monday – Friday from 8:30am-3:45pm)
