Volunteer Befrienders Needed!

Are you looking for a rewarding volunteering role?

New Hope’s Recovery Service is currently seeking compassionate befrienders to support residents during their first 28 days at our accommodation. New Hope’s Recovery Service offers residents who are suffering from alcohol or substance addiction, a safe and supportive environment to begin their recovery.

As a befriender, you will spend a few hours each week with residents, helping them build confidence, encouraging them to engage with hobbies or new interests, and accompanying them outside the accommodation. Your company may differ each week, depending on which residents need the most support.

Volunteers must be aged 18 years or over, be reliable and able to commit to a regular schedule, able to follow guidelines and professional boundaries and be motivated to support people in their recovery journey. Training for the role will be provided.

If this role sounds of interest, please head over to our volunteers page where you will find additional information regarding the role responsibilities and how to apply.

For more information about this role, contact Ekta Gurney on 01923 210 680 or by emailing egurney@newhope.org.uk.
