Hope and a Future
Last night, we celebrated 34 years of New Hope with our annual celebration service. It’s always a special occasion as staff, volunteers, supporters, and service users gather together.
We heard an update from Matthew Heasman, New Hope’s Chief Executive, inspiring us with New Hope’s vision for the next five to six years. More to come on this over this year! The Revd Tony Rindl helped us to think about the power of being rooted and the damage of rootlessness and the pain of being uprooted. The Revd Michael Norman led us in a poignant time of reflection as we remembered those we have lost over the past year. It’s always very moving as we take time to give thanks for the lives of staff, volunteers, and service users - mindful of how many people who have experienced homelessess die younger than the average person due to health issues, often but not always, associated with substance and/or alcohol misuse.
It was lovely to see so many of our supporters face-to-face and to catch up over refreshments!
If you’ve missed it, please join us next year as we celebrate 35 years of this distinctive charity!
