Choir with No Name Workshops Happening!
The Choir with No Name has announced that they will be holding four singing workshops at St Mary’s Church, Watford, on Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm, starting 23rd Feb through to 16th March, with the 16th March hopefully including a short performance that friends and family can attend.
Last autumn the “Choir with No Name” ran a series of singing sessions as auditions to recruit an artistic director for this socially inclusive choir in Watford. Two residents at New Hope went along and thoroughly enjoyed learning rock songs like “Eye of the Tiger” and “Sweet Caroline”.
The Choir would love people to come along and enjoy some singing at these sessions even if they cannot make all four. Teas, coffees, biscuits and fruit will be provided, and there is no charge for the sessions.
The Choir with No Name initiative has been successfully running choirs and building joyful communities with homeless and marginalised people since 2008. They currently have four choirs: in Birmingham, Liverpool, London and Brighton. It has been founded on the premise that singing makes you feel good; it distracts you from all the nonsense in life and helps you to build confidence, skills and genuine, long-lasting friendships.
