Hot water for a cold season
Back in 2018, a local business reached out to New Hope offering a touch of modernisation to the kitchen at our Community Home in the form of an instant hot-water tap. InSinkErator, based in Croxley Business Park, offer stylish and innovative products to improve kitchen spaces including both instant hot and filtered water taps and hygienic and sustainable food waste disposers. Over the past few years, the 3N1 steaming hot water tap has seen a huge amount of use in the busy kitchen environment especially as, in the words of the previous Community Home manager, ‘the best support happens over a hot cup of tea.’
In the summer of this year, InSinkErator got in touch once again to replace the filters in the steaming hot water tap system and to find out if there were any other ways they could get involved with New Hope as we are a charity very local to them. We were thrilled when the team agreed to further support New Hope and fit the newer 4N1 taps in both New Hope House and the Manse to bring both kitchen areas up to the same standard as the Community Home. Both part of the Recovery Services, New Hope House and the Manse support people in their initial abstinence and continued recovery from homelessness and addiction and, at full occupancy, house 14 people, many of whom will enjoy a steaming cup of tea, coffee or some cold filtered water.
Anne Kaarlela, Marketing Communications and Customer Service Manager, Europe, InSinkErator®, says: “We are pleased to be able to support the local community and those in need by partnering with New Hope, who do some amazing work. This partnership not only gives the opportunity for the business to support New Hope with donations, but our employees can be involved too. We hope the donated products will provide comfort for those staying at New Hope House, and The Manse, during a difficult time as well as support New Hope with its sustainability goals.”
As well as generously donating their products to the Recovery Services, InSinkErator are keen to get more involved over the coming months and have already begun volunteering with cooking and serving breakfast at the Haven, something which will continue into 2023. As we are heading deeper into the coldest and wettest months of the year, we expect to see a steady increased of people coming to the Haven each morning for a hot meal, cup of tea and some clean and dry clothes and so we are really grateful for the help!
We’re so thankful for the generosity of the local community and local businesses in Watford. Times are tough and getting tougher for everyone and this is also true of the charities here to support people at their most vulnerable so support, financial or voluntary, is so important and needed right now. Thank you again to InSinkErator for the continued support of what we do.
