New Hope for new homes

Recently, New Hope was thrilled to receive funding from Nationwide Building Society’s Community Grants to develop a new service to support people who have experiences of homelessness into their own accommodation. Supplementary to the work of the Tenancy Sustainment Team, Project Home, our new support service, will provide fast access to accommodation for those with experiences of rough sleeping or complex needs.

Project Home is designed to provide intensive housing support for people with a history of homelessness or rough sleeping and this new service will provide crucial help in the first 12 weeks as people set up their own homes, possibly for the very first time. This support will include one-to-one assistance with budgeting for bills and food, independent living skills to give each person the best possible chance at successfully maintaining their own home, and a budget to support the costs of deposits or appliances and furnishings for those moving into unfurnished properties.

We are incredibly grateful to the Nationwide Community Foundation for helping us make this project a reality and can’t wait to share its successes over the next year.
