Emergency accommodation provided

We can now announce that temporary accommodation has been secured for the majority of people who are sleeping rough in Watford in partnership with Watford Borough Council.

Twenty people will be moving into self-contained rooms in a town-centre hotel and another 20 will be moving into the OneYMCA building at Charter Place.

This will mean that over the next week or so, our focus will shift from providing meals and support at the Haven Support Centre to preparing meals at the Haven and then delivering them and providing other forms of support to where people are temporarily living. This will be a major logistical exercise.

For many people, this will be the first time in a long while that they have had their own room.

We are continuing to feed and support 55 residents in our accommodation services as well as 40 vulnerable people who are living in their own accommodation but with a background of homelessness.

We are so grateful to everyone who in the community who is helping - giving their time, donating food, cooking meals and sending donations.
