Mitzvah day 2020!

We are delighted that once again this year, three local community groups chose to support New Hope as part of Mitzvah day; an event that takes place within Jewish communities each year.

The day brings together volunteers from synagogues and social groups and invites them to organise and engage in social action projects that benefit the local community.

Bushed United synagogue baked and donated cakes for our wonderful key workers to show their appreciation for the invaluable work that New Hope frontline staff undertake on a daily basis.

The League of Jewish Women collected cupboard goods that will be used to provide healthy meals for rough sleepers and those in temporary accommodation throughout the year.

Stanmore synagogue held a clothing collection of key clothing items for rough sleepers.

One of the organisers of the said:

“Mitzvah Day is an annual event of social action in the community, where volunteers come together and give their time to help on various local projects. A Mitzvah is a good deed. Bushey Synagogue have been working together with New Hope for the past 5 years, cooking meals and collecting essential items. New Hope is a wonderful, worthwhile charity that we are delighted to support!”

Thank you so much to all of the participating groups! This long-term and dedicated support plays an invaluable role in helping to prevent homeless and transform lives!
