Mitzvah Day
On Sunday 22nd November, synagogues and Jewish groups from Radlett, Bushey and Hatch End supported New Hope as part of Mitzvah Day – a Jewish day of social action and community volunteering. Mitzvah Day is an opportunity for Jewish communities to give up their time to help make a difference.
The League of Jewish Women in Hatch End collected food and toiletries from shoppers at Morrison’s and filled five large trolleys with donations – the estimated value of these donations of which is nearly £1000!
A group of volunteers from Bushey and District Synagogue braved the cold at the Community Market Garden and helped to gather up fallen leaves and filter the compost heap.
Volunteers from Radlett Reform Synagogue spent the day making pasta bakes and sorting through donations of toiletries and warm winter clothes for New Hope’s services.
We are so grateful to all the groups who supported New Hope during in Mitzvah Day 2015. Thank you!
