SWEP

SWEP covers the arrangements to provide humanitarian accommodation and support for rough sleepers in Watford to protect them from the cold or other severe weather conditions. It is provision for those rough sleeping in the Watford area.

New Hope is operating the SWEP on behalf of Watford Borough Council.

SWEP will be activated when the Met Office forecasts zero degrees Celsius, or below for one night. Local conditions such as wind chill, rain and snow will also be considered.

Offering:

Provision will be firstly in the Sanctuary – Emergency Accommodation (25 beds) utilising voids in the service and if there’s additional need for accommodation then it will be utilising local hotels. 

Referral Procedure:

Additionally referrals can be done via the following methods:

  • Through contact with the Outreach Plus Team

  • Individuals may present at the Haven Support Centre at 4 Whippendell Road, Watford, Herts, WD18 7LU (open Monday – Friday from 8:30am-3:45pm)
