The ECDL is a nationally recognised IT qualification and are a great way to show employers that you have the skills they need. It can also help to improve your job prospects or even help you feel more comfortable using a computer in your spare time.
Starting with the basics at level 1 and progressing onto subjects at level 2, you’ll cover: computer basics, using the internet and email, using popular Microsoft Office packages like Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and computer and internet security.
How will I learn?
You will need to enrol for your qualification through a Learn Direct centre – this means that you will receive face-to-face support from friendly staff. You can continue to work anywhere you have an internet connection. During your learning you will have regular progress reviews to make sure you’re on track.
How long will it take?
Learn Direct are flexible so it depends on your needs and circumstances. On average, it takes around three months to gain the ECDL qualification but they will agree a target and date with you when you start.
