What’s it all about?
HopeCollege is a resource primarily for those are experiencing, or have experienced, homelessness in the Watford area.
We are passionate about helping people:
Discover and access local training opportunities
Gain skills and qualifications
Prepare for employment and become ‘job-ready’
Grow in confidence, self-esteem and wellbeing
We know that there is a lot of information out there and it can be overwhelming knowing where to look for information on qualifications, writing a CV, or even learning new skills.
This is why we have done the hard work for you and created this website! It’s a one-stop shop signposting you to a variety of courses and organisations.
We can help you find information on CV writing, interview skills, career advice, training, qualifications, informal workshops and volunteering opportunities.
To get the most out of this site, it will help you to think about your own journey and where you need to start. For instance, it may be best to begin by exploring the Getting a Job section, the links provided will help you work out what you might like to pursue. It may also be advantageous to have a chat with a work coach at your local Jobcentre Plus, who could also help suggest appropriate courses and qualifications.
Are you ready to get learning new skills or improve old ones? Then jump to the Qualifications & Courses section or Workshops for a variety of options.
If you feel you are not quite ready to pursue work but would like to develop your skills and invest in your own wellbeing then you may find a number of activities in our Workshops section particularly appealing.
Getting back into a working lifestyle can sometimes seem daunting, volunteering is a great way to ease back into a healthy balance of work and social interaction and take on new challenges without huge pressures. Take a look at our Volunteering section and see what you can find.
